FRANCISCO CANESSA DÍAZ

In July 2024, Francisco Canessa joins Puga Ortiz, joining the team of partner lawyer Rodrigo Weisner, specialist in Water and Environmental Law.

Francisco is a lawyer from the University of Talca; Master in Economics, Regulation and Competition in Public Services from the University of Barcelona, ​​and Master in Regulation from the Adolfo Ibáñez University. He has extensive experience in the areas of Water Law, Administrative Law, Environment and Economic Regulation, advising national and foreign companies in the development of mining, agroindustrial, wine and energy projects. In addition, he has advised on the management of Water User Organizations.

In his professional career, he has also been a senior associate lawyer at the Lavín Abogados & Consultores and Carcelén, Desmadryl, Guzmán & Tapia Abogados law firms, linked to the aforementioned areas. Likewise, he has worked in the Legislative Unit of the Ministry of Mining, in the Undersecretariat of Telecommunications, and in various positions within the General Directorate of Water, including Legislative Advisor, Regional Director in the Maule Region, Lawyer of the Legal Division, and Regional Lawyer in the regions of Aysén and La Araucanía.
