He has more than 20 years of experience in the practice of the profession, where he has assumed different responsibilities in the financial industry, both in the private and public sectors, including regulatory and compliance issues. He has been a director of different companies.

 

He has served as Legal Director (Fiscal) of the former Superintendency of Banks and Financial Institutions (SBIF), then in said position at the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF). Previously, he worked in the Central Bank Prosecutor’s Office in the regulatory area analyzing various initiatives regarding financial regulation.

 

During these periods he participated in multiple regulatory and legal proposals with an impact on regulated markets.

 

Previously, he worked for several years in the private sector, in different positions, including Banco Itaú Chile as deputy legal manager and also as chief lawyer. Participated in different M&A processes and corporate governance issues. Previously he was a lawyer for the Banco de Crédito e Inversiones.

 

He currently advises different national and international companies on regulatory, corporate and compliance matters.

 

Education

 

He is a lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; He later completed a Master’s Degree in Business Law at the same University; He also has an LL.M with a specialty in International Business Law from University College London (UCL).

 

Exhibitions, teaching and others

 

Undergraduate commercial law professor. In addition, he is usually invited as a postgraduate professor in regulatory financial specialization courses at different universities.

 

He has participated in different forums and seminars, among others, in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the Law and Financial Stability High-Level Seminar; CEMLA in bank resolution; ALADI as a member of its advisory group; He has also been a speaker at various seminars.
